Run your fingers through your hair a couple of times to let your salt and pepper combination fall over your shoulders naturally and beautifully. A simple lob is an ideal choice if you have thick hair and don’t feel like compromising too much on their hair length. As you can see here, the classic lob looks truly stunning with its equal length all around. All you need to do is run your hairbrush a couple of times through your hair to set it in place.

Using a round brush might sound a bit weird for short hair. But I discovered that it gives my hair more volume and a nicer style when I use one. I usually start by blow drying my hair using a paddle brush.

You can add side swept eye-covering bangs to look even sexier. A shaggy bob is the height of casual cool and is a great look if you don’t want to look like you have put too much effort into a chic style. Cut in lots of layers to give your hair a choppy look. Scrunch your hair through your fist as you are drying it to create extra shagginess.

This chin-length bob really taps into the blunt cut style. It is a great choice if you have strong facial features and it looks great in a monochrome color. Lightly tousle the top layer of your hair to take some of the harshness away. Cut your bangs to be a little wispy and side sweep them to create a dreamy look. Lucky owners of thick hair often wish they weren’t so lucky. Keeping thick hair neat is absolutely necessary to sport a fashionable appearance.

The best part about this type of hair is that once it’s styled, it maintains its shape all day long. You might be somebody’s mommy, but this is definitely not your mother’s long pixie hairdo! The dirty blonde base with brightening highlights provides the volume you need to balance out the short sides and feathered top section. Side swept bangs, a closely cropped nape, and V-shaped sideburns bring in a touch of corporate elegance.

This multidimensional color is made all the better with creative waves. To style this look, first blow hair out with a round brush, then use a straightener to flip the front pieces at the ends. We love a double bun look, especially when it's just a little bit extra. The key to pulling off this cut is texture; Pat your hair dry using a microfibre towel to absorb moisture and lead to less damage. Create a center part and gather hair into two loose low pigtails. Use a volumizing spray for both longer or shorter versions of the bob for a flawless finish.

BT Home Hub 5.0 Type A

You could well have one of these still if you signed up with broadband deals from BT a while ago. Four GigE ports so customers can further exploit the superfast speeds of their Infinity Broadband. One complaint we do have is BT by default sets up the Home Hub 5 with a single SSID.

We also expect our journalists to follow clear ethical standards in their work. Our staff members must strive for honesty and accuracy in everything they do. We follow the IPSO Editors’ code of practice to underpin these standards. In addition the Home Hub 5 also makes the leap to 802.11ac wireless.

Models and technical specifications

Since hardware version 5 of the Home Hub was released in August 2013 it includes its own VDSL2 modem for Fibre-optic connections. Prior to release of the Home Hub (2004–2005), BT offered a product based on the 2Wire 1800HG, and manufactured by 2Wire. This was described as the "BT Wireless Hub 1800HG", or in some documentation as the "BT Wireless Home Hub 1800".

The middleware was developed by Jungo, a subsidiary of NDS, and is based on their openRGTM product. Come to think of it this is exactly why I don't have a BT router. Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Below we've broken down each BT router so you can figure out which one you have and what the benefits of each one are.

Installation

The security of the BT Home Hub has been questioned by GNUCITIZEN. In October 2007, Adrian Pastor warned the security and BT Broadband community regarding critical vulnerabilities he discovered in the Home Hub. The details of such research were released later in November 2007 and demonstrated how to fully compromise on the BT Home Hub by tricking a BT Home Hub user to visit a webpage crafted by the attacker. There are two versions of the BT Home Hub 2.0, the A and the B model. The hardware contained within the Home Hub 2.0A was manufactured by Thomson SpeedTouch, who had bought out Inventel and all their hardware and software rights.

In essence, while this won't be an upgrade many need, those who really care about good internet will be looking to make the upgrade. The BT dual-band ac wireless USB dongle for Windows PCs greatly improves the Wi-Fi performance of your laptop when used with the BT Home Hub 5. The easy to install dual-band dongle is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 only. In May 2017, it was reported that many BT Smart Hub customers were suffering problems with the router constantly rebooting and being unable to maintain a reliable internet connection. Apart from a few minor niggles we were very impressed by the BT Home Hub 5. It crams in just about everything you need to connect both wired and wireless devices to the internet and does so with a great deal of aplomb.

I recommend keeping several versions around and symlinking them, so you can easily swap versions. For this to work, you need to remove the L9 component from the back of the USB port. This will break the connection from the USB + terminal and let you provide another power source. Once you have removed the above component, proceed to connect your circuit with the router. Choose a safe spot for the circuit to stay, possibly cover its base with some hot glue.

Unlike TalkTalk’s Super Router, which also delivers 802.11ac, BT’s router can hold its head high. Despite these points we have to say getting the Home Hub 5 up and running is very easy and even technophobes shouldn’t worry. The router’s user interface isn’t the most advanced we’ve seen and won’t give Linksys’ industry leading ‘Smart WiFi’ sleepless nights, but it is simple to navigate. BT also deserves credit for shipping the Home Hub 5 with a long 2m power cable, which gives a lot of flexibility when it comes to positioning the router. Linksys and Asus are leading the way here with routers that have no password but make you pick one in the setup wizard. That makes far more sense to us, though BT’s approach is consistent with previous Home Hub’s.

In most cases this is usually because the manufacturer has discontinued the product. We don’t want you to miss out though so here’s some of our best selling products which are similar to what you are looking for. Just a small point to note - they might not have the exact features as the product you initially wanted so please be sure to check the features before you buy. We’ve come to expect the worst when testing ISP-supplied routers, but BT’s Home Hub 5 bucks the trend in a big way by embracing the latest in wireless tech.

After 29 January 2011, BT Broadband Talk was no longer provided as part of BT's broadband packages. There are two versions of the BT Home Hub 3, the A and the B model. The hardware contained within the Home Hub 3A was manufactured by Siemens' Gigaset division and is based on a Lantiq XWAYTM ARX168 chipset supporting ADSL2+.

BT Home Hub 5 review: BT’s fastest wireless router

In our 802.11n distance testing, the BT Home Hub 5 achieved speeds 28% faster, although compared with rivals, its performance was middling. The BT Home Hub 3 and 4 do not work with the BT Broadband Talk service or DECT telephones. The BT Hub Phone is an optional handset that can be bought to work in conjunction with the BT Home Hub 1, 1.5, and 2.0.

The 5th generation Home Hub was released in mid-October 2013 and is an upgrade to the Home Hub 4, with Gigabit Ethernet connections, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and an integrated VDSL modem. Customers upgrading from ADSL Broadband pay only a delivery charge; existing Broadband customers pay a £45 upgrade charge. There are two variants of the Hub 5, Type A with Lantiq chipset , and Type B with Broadcom.

Hands on: BT Smart Hub review

All of the major components were hidden under a metal cap which prevented us from identifying them. You will still need to check the user guide to interpret the hub lights though . It's also worth noting that the lights on the router can be switched off or dimmed, and the lights and icons present on the Home Hub 5 have been removed to avoid confusion.

Serial

It is possible to replace the firmware of the Hub 5 Type A (and the identical 'Plusnet Hub One' and 'BT Business Hub 5' Type A) with OpenWrt, unlocking it from BT and providing the features of OpenWrt. In April 2018, scripts for modifying the stock firmware of a BT Hub 5 Type A to enable SSH access, were published on the GitHub repository; this enables access to the native OpenRG command-line interface. Each touts 1,300Mbits/sec 802.11ac, with a 3×3 MIMO stream internal antenna setup. Each has four Gigabit Ethernet ports at the rear, coupled with a DSL/VDSL port for fibre and ADSL2+ connection, plus a WAN port for those who need a separate modem. There’s a USB port so you can plug in a USB stick and share files, WPS and reboot buttons sit on top of the device, and you get a power switch at the rear, which makes it simple to cycle the power should the router freeze up. This is what comes with all of BT's Superfast fibre broadband plans. As you'd expect from a brand like BT, the Smart Hub is a super powerful router - the most powerful in the UK claims BT. All-round performance is impressive for an ISP-supplied router. Up close, we saw similar file-transfer speeds to the TalkTalk Super Router, with 802.11ac speeds reaching an impressive 50.4MB/sec, but the Home Hub 5 is better at long range. In our 30m test, 802.11ac speed fell to 22.7MB/sec, but it at least completed the test; TalkTalk’s 802.11ac network failed to connect at this distance.

Tested with Seagate Expansion Portable HDD 500 GBs (USB 3.0). It is also worth testing with irqbalance running (after installing with “opkg install irqbalance”). Download the image on your PC, copy it to a memory stick and insert it in the router. There are a few scripts that save you time so you don't have to type lots of commands manually.

Smart dual-band technology reduces wireless interference and drop outs, giving our customers an unbeatable connection for all their devices. The BT Home Hub can only be used with the BT Total Broadband package without modification; the 1.0, 1.5, 2A, 2B and 3A versions can be unlocked. Consequently, the Home Hub 1.0 can be flashed with some firmware such as that for the 7G; however full functionality cannot be achieved using this method. The Home Hub 1.5 firmware, whilst not hardware locked as previously claimed, does have extra locks in the bootloader which can now be circumvented and full functionality achieved.

It uses smart scan tech, has four ethernet ports and has USB slots. However, it is only single band W-Fi so there is no support for 5GHz bands. This isn't the end of the world but it does mean it won't always be as fast for certain devices with 5GHz connectivity. The Home Hub 4 was supplied free of charge to new customers, with a £35 charge to existing customers. It has intelligent power management technology which monitors the hub functions and puts them individually into power-save mode when not in use.

The BT Home Hub works with the now defunct BT Fusion service and works with the BT Vision video on demand service. The BT Home Hub 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 devices connect to the Internet using a standard ADSL connection. The BT Home Hub 3 and 4 models support PPPoA for ADSL and PPPoE for VDSL2, in conjunction with an Openreach-provided VDSL2 modem to support BT’s FTTC network .

It also packs some clever technology that reduces interference, improving reliability by reducing the number of dropouts. Another nifty piece of tech, BT Smart Scan, seamlessly swaps channels in the background to dodge any congestion. The hardware contained within the BT Home Hub 2.0B was manufactured by Siemens' Gigaset division in Germany.

Up until now all Infinity customers were forced to have a separate bulky modem and was wired into either the Home Hub 4 or a third-party router. The Home Hub 5 does away with this and runs cool and quiet. While several features vie for our attention, we’re going to start with the integrated VDSL modem. Somehow BT has squeezed this into the Home Hub 5 without any size or weight penalty. Not only is this a remarkable feat of engineering but it also means BT Infinity customers finally have a neat, single box solution.

If LuCI lists seven ports (Port 0 – Port 5 + CPU), it's probably using the swconfig numbering and ignoring /etc/board.json. On the bright side, you don't need to edit anything to make use of the WAN port. Select 'Custom Interface' and enter 'ptm0.101' or 'dsl0.101' for LEDE 17 and OpenWrt 18 respectively to set vlan 101 for BT Openreach network compatibility. In some cases, it may be the case that USB port does not provide enough power to run a portable HDD or even a USB stick. As it has been tested there also seems to be a reboot issue when hot-plugging a USB device. This issue is related to low power output from the USB port although the supplied power adapter provides more than enough juice for the router.

River rafting is a thrilling and adventurous activity that attracts people from all over the world. It offers a unique way to experience the power and beauty of nature while navigating through fast-flowing rivers. One of the most common questions that people have about river rafting is how long does it typically last. In this article, we will explore the answer to this question and provide some additional information about river rafting.

When it comes to the duration of a river rafting trip, it can vary depending on several factors. The length of the river, the difficulty level of the rapids, and the specific itinerary of the trip all play a role in determining how long the experience will last. On average, a river rafting trip can range from a few hours to several days.

If you are looking for a shorter river rafting experience, there are many options available. Some rivers offer half-day trips, where you can enjoy a few hours of rafting and then return to the starting point. These trips are perfect for those who want to get a taste of river rafting without committing to a longer adventure. For those who want to extend their experience, there are also full-day rafting trips available.

For those seeking a more immersive river rafting experience, multi-day trips are the way to go. These trips can last anywhere from two to seven days, depending on the itinerary. During a multi-day trip, you will raft for several hours each day, covering a larger distance and experiencing a variety of rapids along the way. This type of trip allows you to truly immerse yourself in the river and the surrounding wilderness.

Personal Experience with River Rafting:

During my recent river rafting trip, I opted for a full-day adventure on a Class III river. The trip started early in the morning and lasted for approximately six hours. We navigated through thrilling rapids, enjoyed scenic stretches of calm water, and even had a chance to swim in the river. The guides provided expert instruction and ensured that we had a safe and enjoyable experience. It was an exhilarating day filled with adrenaline-pumping moments and breathtaking scenery.

River rafting is an activity that has been around for centuries. It has a rich history and is deeply rooted in many cultures around the world. In ancient times, people used rafts to navigate rivers for transportation and trade. Today, river rafting has evolved into a popular recreational activity that attracts adventure seekers from all walks of life.

History and Myth of River Rafting:

According to ancient Greek mythology, river rafting was invented by the god Hermes. He created the first raft by tying together several logs and used it to navigate the rivers. The ancient Egyptians also used rafts for transportation and trade on the Nile River. In more recent history, river rafting gained popularity in the 19th century when adventurers began exploring the untamed rivers of North America.

While river rafting may seem like a purely adventurous activity, it also offers some hidden secrets. One of these secrets is the opportunity to see wildlife up close and personal. Many rivers are home to a variety of animal species, including birds, fish, and even larger mammals like bears and elk. During a river rafting trip, you may have the chance to spot these animals in their natural habitat.

Hidden Secrets of River Rafting:

In addition to wildlife, river rafting also offers the opportunity to explore hidden canyons, waterfalls, and other natural wonders. As you navigate through the rapids, you will witness the power of the river firsthand and be surrounded by stunning landscapes. Each river has its own unique features and attractions, making every rafting trip a truly unforgettable experience.

If you are considering a river rafting trip, it is important to choose a reputable and experienced outfitter. They will provide all the necessary equipment, including life jackets and helmets, and ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable experience. Additionally, it is recommended to bring sunscreen, water, and snacks to stay hydrated and energized during your adventure.

Tips for River Rafting:

1. Dress appropriately: Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting wet. Avoid cotton as it takes a long time to dry. Opt for synthetic materials that wick away moisture. 2. Listen to your guide: The guides are experienced professionals who know the river inside out. Follow their instructions and listen to their safety briefings. 3. Stay hydrated: It's important to drink plenty of water during your rafting trip to avoid dehydration. Bring a reusable water bottle and refill it whenever possible. 4. Enjoy the scenery: Take the time to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings. Look out for wildlife, admire the rock formations, and soak in the peacefulness of nature.

What if I can't swim?

Not being able to swim should not deter you from enjoying a river rafting trip. All participants are required to wear life jackets, which will keep you afloat in case you fall into the water. Additionally, the guides are trained in water rescue techniques and will ensure your safety throughout the trip.
