Security officials from Carnival allegedly removed the woman from a hot tub and placed her in handcuffs. At some point, the restrained woman jumped over the side of the ship, reportedly hitting lifeboats on the way to landing face down in the water.

"In the video we showed to his family, he can be seen intentionally opening a gate, walking into a restricted area, and jumping from a lifeboat," a Carnival spokesperson told FOX Business in a statement.
The search for 28-year-old Tyler Barnett of Houma, Louisiana, resumed Wednesday morning after being paused due to severe weather conditions and safety concerns. More than 2,900 passengers can travel on the 110,000 ton Carnival Valor ship. Rescue teams searched for over 14 hours before suspending the search, NOLA reports. Footage uploaded to social media showed red smoke billowing from a flare that had been thrown into the water. The ship was around 150 miles off the Louisiana coastline when the incident erupted. Carnival Valor departed on a five-day voyage from New Orleans to Mexico and was scheduled to return to the U.S. on Thursday.
